This gummy, chalky Star Aviar comes from a rare experimental run of Star plastic, likely produced in the early-to-mid 2010s. Unlike standard Star Aviars, this batch features a soft, flexible feel and a grippy, almost matte texture—offering a truly unique in-hand experience. The disc is embossed with “MADE IN USA” on the underside but lacks patent numbers, which suggests it comes from a transitional period around 2013–2017 when Innova was updating tooling but had not yet standardized new embossing or flight markings. These runs were never mass-produced or widely distributed, making them a sought-after find for collectors and players who value one-of-a-kind plastic blends.

The Innova Aviar is one of the most iconic and trusted putters in disc golf history. With flight numbers of 2 | 3 | 0 | 1, it delivers a straight, stable flight with a gentle fade, making it ideal for putting, approaches, and even short drives. Its beadless design and clean release have made it a favorite for players of all skill levels, and its consistent performance has kept it in bags for decades. Whether you’re new to disc golf or a seasoned competitor, the Aviar offers the kind of reliability and touch that defines great putting.

Star plastic is Innova’s premium blend, offering the perfect combination of long-lasting durability and excellent grip. Known for its balanced stiffness and high-end feel, Star plastic maintains its flight characteristics over time while still feeling comfortable in all conditions. In some unique runs, like this gummy variant, the plastic takes on a softer, more flexible texture with a chalky, grippy surface—providing even more control and a standout feel in the hand. These unintentional variations are rare and cherished for their distinctive performance and collectibility.
